CLEVELAND – Easy2 Technologies, a leading full-service provider of online media, has launched a Web-based MYO (Make Your Own) application that allows manufacturers to create and distribute unlimited interactive product demos for one flat monthly fee.
MYO is the only application of its kind. Easy2 Technologies initially launched the application to manufacturers in late fall 2006 to address a growing demand for product demos on retailers sites and on the manufacturers sites themselves.
“Rich media demos are continuously proving to increase sales – all product pages on a retailer site can benefit from having a demo, not just new products. The challenge has always been how to cost-justify and efficiently build demos for all products. MYO is the answer,” said John Bukovnik, Easy2 president and co-founder. “Frankly, we’ve changed the industry. The days of six-week production cycles and spending thousands of dollars per demo are gone.”
In just nine months, Easy2 has licensed MYO to more than 35 major manufacturers in the home improvement, consumer electronic and juvenile products industries. Companies such as Black & Decker, Samsung, Whirlpool and MK Diamond are licensing the application to build demos for all of their product lines. “We consider MYO to be the essential ingredient for our online sales and marketing program,” said Lamont Rhondeau, Internet channel manager for MK Diamond. “We intend to use MYO to create demos for more than 1,200 finished goods on our corporate Web site and those of our retailers.” Easy2 says that the retailers are introducing MYO to their vendors because it results in access to more interactive content than what is provided by other rich media companies.
In-house Web teams, product managers or anyone in sales, marketing or merchandising with little or no technical or creative experience can deliver high-impact, branded demos to their Web sites, as well as those of their retailers.
Demos are built using their existing assets such as text, photos, videos or flash animations and can be created in minutes with as little as one product photo. Users are also provided with real-time analysis and reporting, including number of views and what sites are being used to access the demos. “MYO is simple, saves me a ton of time and takes the concept of value-added service to a new level,” said Gary Peeples, Black & Decker interactive marketing manager.
MYO content templates additionally offer animated features and benefits, 360° rotation and zoom views, multi-step installation and assembly instructions, color options and user surveys for marketing and customer service initiatives. The MYO license includes distribution to an unlimited number of retailers and any edits are automatically made to all retailer demo versions. The demos are easily incorporated into interactive lessons for customer service or training using the MYO Lesson Builder.
Easy2 also boasts a simple pricing model. “You get unlimited everything for one flat monthly fee – unlimited demos, edits, distribution and views. We make it simple for our clients to budget for MYO with no hidden costs that they’ll have to explain to their bosses,” said Bukovnik.
